The PlayStation VR2 hardware will be playable for the first time at Tokyo Game Show.
Capcom has announced that the PlayStation VR2 version of Resident Evil Village will be playable at the event next month, which will mark the first time players will get to try out the current-gen headset.
A tweet from the official Japanese Resident Evil / Biohazard account stated: “Tokyo Game Show 2022 Capcom booth exhibition information – the PlayStation VR2 version of Resident Evil Village will be on display. Experience the ultimate immersion by playing a part of Dmitrescu Castle.”
This was then retweeted by the official Japanese PlayStation account, which added: “This will be the first opportunity for PlayStation users to experience PlayStation VR2. Please visit the Tokyo Game Show 2022 Capcom booth.”
Sony confirmed earlier this week that PlayStation VR2 will release in “early 2023”, but the PS VR2 version of Resident Evil Village has yet to get a release date.
Sony’s State of Play presentation in June revealed that Resident Evil Village was being ported to the upcoming PS5 VR headset in its entirety.
At the time of the announcement, producer Tsuyoshi Kanda said: ““The PS VR2 system is currently in development, and Resident Evil Village will be able to provide an even deeper immersive experience by taking full advantage of the vivid graphics possible with the headset’s 4K HDR display, PlayStation VR2’s eye tracking, PS5’s 3D Audio and more.
