Heavenly Sword is a PlayStation exclusive that can only be played on the PS3, seeing as how Heavenly Sword is not available on PS Plus. Even so, fans are hoping that Sony will go above and beyond for a comeback to this forgotten PS3 game.
Heavenly Sword is a hack and slash PlayStation exclusive that was developed by Ninja Theory and released in 2007. Although Ninja Theory is now an Xbox studio, PlayStation still owns the intellectual property rights to Heavenly Sword, so if the company wanted to remaster the game then it would have the ability to do so. This is exactly what fans are hoping for, as the game and many others on the PS3 would benefit from the remake treatment. Heavenly Sword is a PS3 game without trophy support, so it would be even more beneficial for it to receive a possible remaster.

Heavenly Sword fans argue that the game is underrated, and deserves a remaster or sequel. It had potential to kickstart a franchise for PlayStation, similar to God of War, as it showcased actor Andy Serkis as the villain and quickly gained a fan base among players. The reception was positive, despite the game's short length, and even sold over one million copies. Reports suggest that the Heavenly Sword sequel would have been open world with interactive environments.
Future releases were reported to be in development, although Sony canceled the Heavenly Sword sequel because the company did not see an opportunity for financial gain. Even so, Sony could dust off the shelf for a Heavenly Sword sequel, as assets for the canceled game have already been worked on. A remaster would also be an opportunity for Sony to dip back into its exclusive IPs for future releases.
