An engaged couple was recently surprised when they received congratulations on their engagement from PlayStation itself. The pair shared their experience with fellow fans online, and while reactions are mixed, many seem to be charmed by the idea of the company reaching out.
Getting married and having kids have made waves for being connected to gaming on more than one occasion. In one of the most notable instances, a child born on the day of Skyrim's release was actually named Dovahkiin in honor of the games, and as a result, the family was promised free Bethesda games for life from the developer. While this particular acknowledgment of a life achievement doesn't come with a boatload of games, the couple seem to be pleased nonetheless.

The fan shared their experience on Reddit with fellow PlayStation fans. According to the user, they and their significant other ordered engagement announcements to send to friends and family, but ended up with a surplus. Rather than just letting them go to waste, they started sending them out to companies they were involved with or fond of in some way, including Sony. The couple didn't expect to hear anything back, but were surprised to discover a response from PlayStation in their mailbox.
While simple, the card reads «Congratulations» and «Thank you for sharing your accomplishments with us.» The card includes the image of a PlayStation trophy, as well as the PlayStation logo and slogan at the base of the card. It doesn't appear to be signed by anyone from the company itself, but the couple seems to be pleased with it nonetheless. It's certainly a neat souvenir celebrating an impending marriage that few can say that they have.
