Phase 4 Has 5 MCU Characters Who Can Lift Mjolnir
Despite how unique Mjolnir is in the MCU, Marvel's Phase 4 has five characters who can lift it, including Thor: Love and Thunder's new version of Thor. Initially, Thor was the only one worthy to lift Mjolnir, but as the MCU becomes more populated, more and more powerful characters meet the enchanted hammer's criteria. While some have been around for a while and others haven't yet made their debut, all five of these characters will soon appear in Phase 4 and will be able to lift Mjolnir.
Created in the heart of a dying star, Mjolnir is a mythical weapon that first appeared in the MCU in Thor. Odin the Allfather passed down the weapon to his son Thor, but after Thor was banished from Asgard, Odin placed a spell on Mjolnir that makes it so that only those who are deemed worthy can wield the hammer. Once Thor became worthy of Mjolnir, he continued to use it until it was destroyed by his sister Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. However, it was not gone forever, as a Mjolnir from an alternate timeline appeared once again in Avengers: Endgame.

Becoming worthy to lift Mjolnir is no easy task, as very few in the MCU have been able to do it. Besides Thor, the only characters who have lifted Mjolnir so far are Odin, Hela, Captain America, and the original Vision -- plus a surprisingly sturdy coat hook in Thor: The Dark World. Out of the entire MCU, those are the only ones to have done it previously, which is a testament to how powerful some of these following Phase 4 characters are that they now join such an exclusive club.
