Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis has launched its ver. 2 update today, bringing the new Creative Space to life, along with a variety of customization and building options. Also added to the game are a number of quality of life changes, and new options, including cel shading.
Chapter 6, Part 1 of the Main Story continues, along with a series of new missions, new adjustments to help make progressing through the story easier. Among the new settings is cel shading, which you can enable from the settings menu and it applies to characters, including those in cutscenes. So if you're looking for a different aesthetic, try this one out.
The centerpiece of the update, and what makes this such a huge change for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is the Creative Space. You can now obtain and use building materials, known as Build Parts, customize your own private Island in a Twist on player housing that lets you use the space how you'd like. You can even terraform the island to make it more suitable for whatever you plan on building and make everything your own.
You get Build Parts in a couple of ways. Genesis Points are a new point system currency that you can spend on new parts. You earn these from the GP Tree in your Build Space and by doing weekly and limited-time tasks given out by ARKS Architectural Researcher, Arche. You'll be able to learn basic controls from the researcher in order to get started.
Some existing furnishings from PSO2 that you may be familiar with will be made into Build Parts. Further, some new items you can get with your GP include functional stuff, like the IntraSpace Teleporter, which you can use to jump from one location to another (and back). You can also clone yourself with the ARKS Decoy item.
