Nintendo fans are finally going to be able to experience Persona 5 Royal, as the long-awaited Switch port was just announced during Nintendo's June Direct Mini livestream. The original Persona 5 was released on the PlayStation 4 back in 2016 and told the story of the Phantom Thieves, a rag-tag group of teenagers who seek to reform Japanese society by entering the hearts of corrupt individuals and stealing their distorted desires. In addition to two spin-off titles, an updated rerelease of Persona 5 titled Persona 5 Royal was released in 2019 and added several new features, side activities, and even a brand-new story chapter that followed the events of the original game.

The wait for Persona 5 to bring the long-running Persona series to Nintendo consoles is finally coming to an end, as Altus has announced that Persona 5: Royal is coming to the Switch on October 21. This announcement was made during today’s Nintendo Direct Mini livestream, as Persona 5’s cute cat mascot Morgana appeared at the end of the show to deliver “an ultra-top-secret” trailer for Persona 5 Royal’s upcoming Nintendo Switch port. Persona 5 Royal won’t be the only entry coming to Switch either, as Persona 4’s resident bear mascot Teddy then emerged to announce that Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable will follow at an undisclosed later date.
