Having leaked earlier this week, the long rumoured Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica have both finally been announced.
Persona 3 Reload is coming out in early 2024, and it’ll be out on day one via Xbox Game Pass. Persona 5 Tactica is also coming out on 17th November.
A full remake of Persona 3 is a little bit muddled, considering that Atlus only just released ports of Persona 3 Portable for modern systems within the last year. Still, given that there’s a growing amount of love for the Persona franchise since the release of P5, it makes sense for them to revisit and continue to improve upon some older games and stories in the series.
Persona 3 Portable was originally released for PSP, a shrunk down version of the PS2 original JRPG that added new features like female playable characters and more battle controls, though sacrificed the added content that was featured in Persona 3 FES – for some, it’s P3FES that is the definitive version of the game. Here’s hoping that Persona 3 Remake goes a good few steps further, unites all of the previously created content and brings plenty of modern touches to the game.
This isn’t the only Persona announcement, with Persona 5 Tactica also looking to tap that rich vein of Persona 5 love in a different way. The game offers a turn-based grid combat system, similar to a Fire Emblem or XCOM, but most importantly for fans, it features the cast of Persona 5, their summons and team-based moves as well.
