Take a step back in time with the Pearl trailer's creepy first look at the X movie prequel. Written and directed by Ti West, the 2022 slasher film centered on a group of wannabe pornstars and director as they set up shop at a rural farm owned by an elderly couple in Texas. Shortly after arriving, the group come to realize not all is as it seems and their lives are at risk as they're picked off one by one.
Pearl will be set roughly 60 years before the events of X and explore the titular character's origin as a young woman tending to her ailing father on her family's isolated farm and is eager to escape to a life of glamor away from her devout mother. Mia Goth, who also co-wrote the script with director Ti West, is returning to lead the cast of Pearl as the eponymous villain alongside David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland and Emma Jenkins-Purro. Production on Pearl was conducted in secret on the heels of X wrapping shooting and now audiences are getting their first proper look at the upcoming prequel movie.
