GoblinzPublishing, known for games like Overboss and Oaken, has dropped a new title on Android today. It’s Ozymandias, a 4X game where you explore, expand, exploit and exterminate, like the Civ series. Keep reading to find out more about the game.
Ozymandias is set in the bronze age. You’ll get to explore many ancient places of that time. There are Mediterranean and European civilisations. The game promises all the strategy of a classic 4X. You build some cities, raise an army, crush your enemies and all that. But there’s a simple thing that makes it unique. It’s fast and very simplified.
Most of the games of the genre usually bog you down in the tiniest details, making you manage every single resource. But Ozymandias trims all that. No endless micromanagement, no obsessing over every little thing. It’s fast. Like, really fast.
The eight historical maps are quite detailed and you get a variety of empires (52 in total). Each empire has its quirks, making you adapt your playstyle depending on which one you pick. There are different modes as well, like multiplayer, solo and asynchronous mode.
A single match is over in about 90 minutes, which is basically a board game session. The simultaneous turns also keep things moving. All of these actually make the game too simple. Why don’t you catch a glimpse of Ozymandias on that note?
Ozymandias is now out on Android, so you can grab it from the Google Play Store at $2.79. It’s been developed by The Secret Games Company and built on the Unreal Engine 4. It dropped on Steam for PC in March 2022.
Before leaving, read our news on another new game that’s now out on Android. It’s Smashero, A Hack-And-Slash RPG With Musou-Style Action.
