Blizzard first announced Overwatch 2 in 2019, and three years later, the game is finally nearing its official early access release date. Overwatch 2 will be available beginning October 4, and on that day, Blizzard's popular hero-shooter will be going entirely free-to-play. But while Overwatch 2 will be free-to-play, Blizzard is selling a special Watchpoint Pack that interested gamers can buy right now for a variety of perks.
The Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack costs $39.99. It comes with the Space Raider Soldier 76 and Space Raider Cassidy legendary skins, the Season 1 Battle Pass, 2,000 worth of virtual currency to spend in the shop, Overwatch 1 with five Epic skins and five Legendary skins, and guaranteed access to the beta. Those that pre-order the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack will also get an exclusive icon.
Overwatch 2 PvE Coming in 2023, to Be Released as Seasonal Content
The next Overwatch 2 PvP beta is scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 18, with sign-ups available now. Blizzard will grant players access to the beta in waves, but they can jump ahead of the line by purchasing th Watchpoint Pack. So any Overwatch fans who don't want to wait around for Blizzard to send them an invite will definitely want to consider picking up the Watchpoint Pack at some point between now and the beta start date.
This beta marks the first time that console players will get the chance to play Overwatch 2, as the first beta was exclusive to PC gamers. The upcoming Overwatch 2 beta will also give fans their first opportunity to play as new Tank hero Junker Queen, who was recently confirmed to be one of three new heroes that will be playable in the game come launch.
