Overwatch 2 Junker Queen gameplay trailer shows her off shotgun, throwing knife, and big axe
Overwatch 2 is introducing a squad of new characters in the hero shooter sequel, and Junker Queen is one of those fresh faces. Her abilities and ultimate are on full display in a new trailer, which gives us a great idea of how she’ll handle during matches. She’s a Tank hero, and it shows.
Junker Queen’s firearm is a red shotgun, a weapon that’s typically most effective in close-quarters confrontations. That’s also where her melee ability shines: she carries around a giant axe that can deal big damage as it cleaves through nearby enemies. To fight at a distance, Junker Queen can throw her special knife. It can stab within melee range, but when stuck into an enemy from afar, it will actually drag the target back toward Junker Queen when she recalls the blade. As shown in the new gameplay trailer, this can be a great combo with her close-range shotgun. Finally, her ultimate calls forth a bunch of metal scraps and weapons that rotate around her wrist, dealing damage to all nearby enemies.
If Junker Queen looks like the kind of character you want to try, good news: she’ll be playable in the next Overwatch 2 beta. That starts on Tuesday, June 28, and you can sign up for the beta now on the game’s official website. Unlike the first beta, this one will be available on both PC and consoles.
This will also give players another chance to play as Sojourn. Along with Junker Queen, she’s one of several new characters coming to Overwatch 2. A third new character, a Support type, will also launch alongside the game later this year. As promised in the roadmap, more heroes will join the roster with each season.
Overwatch 2 has an October 4 release date on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
