As a successor to Overwatch, the upcoming sequel will introduce new mechanics, heroes, maps and game modes to the team-based experience. Competitive player vs player modes will transition from six-player teams to five-player teams, shaking up the shooter's dynamic by removing a tank from each team's lineup. A dedicated PvE game mode will be another dramatic addition to Overwatch 2, as it will allow groups of players to cooperatively mow down hordes of computer-controlled enemies to their heart's content. Players will be able to try out new maps in the upcoming Overwatch 2 beta, like Circuit Royal and Midtown, alongside a mysterious new hero named Sojourn.
