Alongside the Oppo Reno 7 series, Oppo is also launching the Watch Free fitness tracker in India. The wearable has already been listed on Oppo’s website along with the Reno 7 series promotional materials. Oppo is yet to reveal the full feature set or the expected price. That said, the Watch Free has been available in global markets for quite some time now and we have a fair idea of what this wearable will offer.
The Oppo Watch Free looks a lot like the Huawei Band watches with a long rectangular display. In China, the Watch Free was launched at a price of CNY 549 (approximately Rs. 6,200) and comes in two colours – Gold and Black. India could also get the same colours and a similar price tag too. That said, Oppo has been quite aggressive with its pricing on its accessories and it could be possible that the Watch Free could cost under Rs. 5,000.
The Oppo Watch Free’s star feature is its 1.6-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with a 2.5D curved glass. This display is used to run a proprietary operating system that supports smartphone notifications, including an e-sports mode that divert all notifications away from your smartphone. The watch also does turn-by-turn navigation and support voice assistant, although this remains to be seen whether global models support the Google Assistant or Alexa. Users can also choose between 100 watch faces.
Additionally, the Watch Free gets 100 sports modes for tracking. It also does heart rate monitoring and a SpO2 monitoring along with sleep tracking, snoring analysis, sedentary reminders, daily activity and more. The watch also gets an ambient light sensor, which should help with the auto brightness feature of the display.
