Alongside the Redmi Note 11S, Xiaomi is also launching the Redmi Note 11 in India. The Redmi Note 11 series recently debuted in Europe with four models in the lineup, and Xiaomi India has now confirmed bringing two of the models to India. Both these Redmi phones will launch at the February 9 launch event. There is no word yet on the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, both of which are the fully decked up versions of the Redmi Note 11.
The Redmi Note 11 and Redmi Note 11S are largely the same phone, except for the choice of chipset and the camera sensors. This is a lot similar to the Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10S from last year; those models offered a difference in camera and charging as well.
Both the Redmi Note 11 and Redmi Note 11S have already launched in Europe. The core difference between these two phones is the choice of chipset and the camera sensor. The Redmi Note 11 is relying on a more power efficient Snapdragon 680 4G 6nm chip whereas the Redmi Note 11S is relying on a more performance focused MediaTek Helio G96 12nm chip.
The other difference comes in the form of the camera sensor. The Redmi Note 11 gets the more common 50MP camera sensor whereas the Redmi Note 11S borrows the 108MP camera from the Pro variants. The front camera also sees a 13MP sensor on the Redmi Note 11 while the Note 11S gets a superior 16MP camera.
Rest of the features and specs are almost identical. Hence, with both of these models, you get a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Both phones are shipping with MIUI 13 based on Android 11. The battery capacity on both the phones is same at 5000mAh capacity, and both support 33W fast wired charging.
