Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro now have a launch date for India! The successor to the Oppo Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro will be going public this month with a couple of updates. Oppo says the Reno 8 series will be announced at a launch event on July 18 at 6pm, wherein the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro will be revealed. The Reno 8 series was already launched in China a couple of weeks ago and India once again seems to be getting only two models. However, there’s good news too.
The design revelation shows that Oppo is bringing the Reno 8 Pro and Reno 8 Pro+ to India as the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro respectively. That means we could be seeing the best of Oppo’s cameras and hardware. This time, both models will get the iPhone 12-inspired flat edges instead of just a single model. Another leak also suggests the possible prices Oppo could ask for these phones.
The Oppo Reno 8 leaked prices suggest that the base variant of the phone could end up starting at a price of Rs. 30000 and go up to Rs. 33000. On the other hand, the Reno 8 Pro could start at a price Rs. 45000 or higher. Note that the Pro version this time is the fully loaded variant. The Oppo Reno 8 will be in Shimmer Black and Shimmer Gold colours whereas the Reno 8 Pro will be available in Glazed Black and Glazed Green.
The Reno 8 Pro in China, which could be the Reno 8 in India, could be based on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which could mark the debut of the chipset in India. The Reno 8 Pro model in India could use the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip, which is currently limited to Realme and OnePlus smartphones. The Reno 8 Pro could get a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, whereas the Reno 8 could have a smaller 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
