The first inkling of the need for a Curlyhorn happens early into the character's journey. Ooblets tasks players with gathering a single Curlyhorn to open up the Frunbuns Clubhouse. It sounds easy enough, but unlike gathering nurnies or gummies, there aren't exactly loads of Curlyhorns waiting to be taken in.

That doesn't mean they are impossible to gather. Thankfully, Ooblets doesn't demand players gather more than a few. One for the clubhouse and a couple more for upgrades will do it. But sometimes even a single Curlyhorn is hard to get ahold of.
There is a small chance for a Curlyhorn to appear on the beach in Badgetown. No, it's not a high chance, but it is enough that if players scan the beach every day for a week, they should have at least a couple. With something as valuable as a Curlyhorn, that's worth checking, even if players already have what they need.
Can You Get Rid of Ooblets?
Unlike many games with this style, new resources appear throughout the day. Don't give up just because there are no Curlyhorns on the beach in the morning. Check out the beach in the evening as well. It only takes a few seconds every day, especially if the character is running really fast.
Perhaps the most consistent way of getting ahold of a Curlyhorn is to fish with better bait. Sea-dangling, as the game calls it, has a chance to pull up a Curlyhorn, but only if players are using Super Bait. This can be obtained with 80 slurries at the Reconstitooter by the pier.
