Yamato is a beloved character introduced inOne Piece's Wano Country arc. Known to be Kaido's son, he is an exceptionally powerful figure who had great significance to the plot in the Wano arc. He was introduced to the fans during the Raid on Onigashima when Luffy was fighting Ulti. Just when the fight was getting intense, Yamato rescued Luffy from the grasp of the Tobi Roppo and proceeded to introduce himself to the fans. Immediately, a connection to Kozuki Oden was made and shortly after, the character himself confirmed that he believed himself to be Oden. One Piece: 8 Most Hardworking Pirates Yamato then went on to join Luffy and the alliance in the war against his own father. While he is indeed the son of Kaido, the abuse that he suffered from a very young age meant that he was already against Kaido. Furthermore, being inspired by Kozuki Oden meant that Yamato was always on the side of the rightful monarch of Wano. Growing up Yamato grew extremely rebellious and after meeting Ace, Luffy's brother, waited for the arrival of the Straw Hat pirate in anticipation. Upon joining the alliance during the Onigashima Raid, Yamato proved to be extremely helpful and thanks to his efforts, the war was won. At the center of all his powers is his incredible Devil Fruit, known as the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami.
