Bandai Namco has announced One Piece Odyssey, an upcoming JRPG with a story penned by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda. The existence of the game was revealed in 2021 when Bandai Namco trademarked the One Piece Odyssey name, but no further details about the game were revealed at that time.
One Piece is the best-selling manga series in history and it has been adapted to a number of different mediums, which will include a live-action series that is currently being produced by Netflix. There have been a number of different One Piece video games released over the years, ranging from open-world platformers and fighting games, to mobile titles. The cast of One Piece has also appeared in many Weekly Shonen Jump crossover games, with Luffy battling the likes of Goku and Naruto. The most recent One Piece video game was One Piece Pirate Warriors 4, which was a musou game set during the Wano arc of the series.

The official Bandai Namco YouTube channel has uploaded a trailer for One Piece Odyssey, a new JRPG that is set to launch on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2022. The game is a turn-based RPG where the player controls the members of the Straw Hat Pirates in battle. One Piece Odyssey is being released as part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations for the One Piece franchise, which will be celebrated in July. One Piece author Eiichiro Oda created the story for One Piece Odyssey, along with a number of character and monster designs.
