However, some levels, such as Grizzly Rapids, ask the player to use the terrain and their tricks for speed rather than style.
OlliOlli World is a skateboarding platformer that takes place in the land of Radlandia, a paradise for skaters. Players act as a potential heir to the skate god, a mediator between Radlandia and Gnarvana. Beating this bear race in OlliOlli World requires the player to adjust their way of playing to something a bit different. The game has taught the player to play for points and style, trying to beat the scores of local heroes and other players. While it may be stylish, this playstyle does not necessarily encourage speed. The best way to beat the grizzly in this race down the river is prioritizing speed over flash.

There are two ways to gain speed in OlliOlli World, the first, and most obvious, is pushing. Pushing is used to keep the player moving on the board. If the player skated on flat ground and never pushed, they would slowly roll to a stop. There are two kinds of pushing, regular push and power push.
