Nothing is yet to launch its first smartphone but months ahead of the potential release timeframe, it had released the Nothing Launcher. The company at the time said it wanted to give all its fans using Android phones a taste of what is to be expected from the company’s first smartphone. The launcher was, however, released in beta and was limited to a couple of devices at launch. Hence, only those users who had any of the phones from the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series, as well as those using the Google Pixel 5 and Google Pixel 6, could download and try it out. That restriction has been now lifted.
The Nothing Launcher (Beta) is now available for all Android users to download and try. However, there is a catch and it is big one — something so crucial that it could actually prevent millions of users from trying it out. The Nothing Launcher is currently restricted to Android 11 and newer devices only. Hence, if your phone runs on Android 10 or older, you are out of luck. Nothing does not say if it plans to bring backward compatibility to older versions of Android in the future.
