Nintendo will premiere the second Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer on Tuesday, it’s announced.
The second trailer will be published in a special Nintendo Direct due to be broadcast on November 29 at 2pm PT / 10pm GMT.
The film, which is due to be released in North America on April 7, 2023, received its world premiere trailer during a Nintendo Direct presentation dedicated to the film last month.
The film’s first trailer gave fans the first chance to hear Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario. A teaser image published on Monday suggests the second trailer may debut Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach.
During last month’s presentation, Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri explained that the movie had been in the works for seven years, and was nearing completion.
“Next week we complete animation, [and] we’re knee-deep into lighting and compositing,” he explained.
“Composer Brian Tyler heads to the scoring stage in just 11 days. He’s been working hand-in-hand with [Super Mario Bros game composer] Koji Kondo to integrate classic themes from the game into the film score.”
In addition to Pratt and Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses) has been cast as Luigi and Jack Black as Bowser. Seth Rogen will also play Donkey Kong in the movie.

Following the release of the first trailer, prominent voice actor Tara Strong (Harley Quinn, the Powerpuff Girls) criticised Nintendo and Illumination for not using Nintendo veteran Charles Martinet as the voice of Nintendo’s mascot in the film.
“It should be Charles,” Strong
