Respawn Entertainment is currently working on three Star Wars games, including a real-time strategy title that should focus on Grand Admiral Thrawn, a master tactician who served the Empire during the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Despite the many options for eras in the canon Star Wars timeline that Respawn has available, Admiral Thrawn and the Galactic Empire represent a critical storytelling period for the franchise. The Galactic Civil War period still evokes nostalgia in Star Wars fans today, and its evolution with modern series and games ensures the era’s continued relevance. Previous Star Wars RTS games have also utilized the era, but none with the charismatic Chiss at the helm.
Although the 2010s were somewhat sparse for Star Wars games, with only thee major AAA releases coming from EA's exclusivity deal with Lucasfilm, the 2020s is looking much busier already, with Respawn developing three new projects set in the galaxy far, far away. Respawn’s last Star Wars project was Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which explored the story of Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis as he struggled to survive post-Order 66. TheSoulslike Star Wars adventure received critical acclaim and paved the way for Respawn to continue working on new titles. The company recently announced that Jedi: Fallen Order 2, an unnamed first-person Star Wars shooter, and a Star Wars RTS were all in development and estimated to release in the coming years.

While it’s unknown if all three projects will reach their release dates intact, as EA left a trail of canceled Star Wars games when it had exclusive access to the Star Wars license, Respawn was able to deliver on Fallen Order and this stands its other Star
