Round8 Studio released a new gameplay trailer for Lies of P which shows Pinocchio battling some unsettling Victorian horrors, among other things. This is the second piece of footage from the upcoming game released in the last month, arriving weeks after AMD's stunning Lies of P 8K gameplay trailer.
Lies of P is an action RPG from a Neowiz subsidiary best known for its work on Bless Unleashed, a moderately successful 2019 MMO for PC and last-generation consoles. Round8 announced the game in mid-2021, describing it as a single-player experience that will deliver an interactive retelling of Pinocchio in a Victorian steampunk setting. While such a combination of gameplay and visuals appears reminiscent of several FromSoftware games, the Lies of P developer says Bloodborne similarities weren't intentional.
Lies of P Placeholder Voice Acting is Hilarious
The newly released teaser clocks in at exactly two minutes, though the majority of its footage appears to have been taken from earlier promo materials, going back to a 40-minute «director's cut» Lies of P trailer unveiled back in September 2022. That said, the video does offer a couple new glimpses of some previously confirmed locations across its world of Belle Epoque, named after a French term for «beautiful era.» That moniker isn't meant to be taken literally, as evidenced by the game's eerie aesthetic, as well as the fact that its premise revolves around Pinocchio's quest to become a real boy by slaying countless Victorian horrors.
