A new update is coming to , which will fix many of the game's biggest launch problems. Capcom announced the new updates via the official X account. According to the statement, the updates will add the option to start a new game when save data already exists, set fixed or variable frame rates on consoles, and improve quality with DLSS on Steam. The studio is planning to release these patches as soon as they are ready for distribution on each platform.
While many have been vocal about the game's frame rates, particularly on PC, perhaps the biggest issue has been with 's game saves, as the game had a limited number of save slots. There is only one save slot in, and that slot is constantly overwritten by three types of saves: manual saves, autosaves, and inn saves, and because there aren't multiple save slots, autosaves replace manual saves. There was also no option to create a new save or delete a previous one, so players could become stuck if the game saves while caught in a certain situation or glitch.
Modders had previously found their own solution to this, with Lennard Fonteijn's "". This lets players delete a selected save, create new games, and switch to new character saves. It was also possible for players to import backups that hadn't originally been made by the Save Manager tool, making for a much smoother process all around.
