One of the most influential games for the Fighting Game Community is Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: Age of New Heroes, which first released in 2000. This crossover takes the iconic rosters of both Marvel Comics and Capcom and pits them against one another in team-based battles, making it a stand-out release among other fighters of the day. The game is still fondly remembered to this day and is considered by many to be the best Marvel vs. Capcom game, with some circles declaring it the best fighting game of all time. Sadly, the game has been delisted since 2013, unable to be officially purchased from digital storefronts.
Fans have since then been asking Capcom and Marvel to re-release this game, which came to a head thanks to prominent YouTuber and FGC figurehead Maximilian Dood. Last year, he started an online campaign to bring back Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to hopefully convince the relevant parties to re-release the game. Arcade1Up, an arcade cabinet producer, has revealed to fans that a brand-new cabinet of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is coming out this year.
Rumor: EA Could Be Making a New Iron Man Game
As revealed in a new video from Arcade1Up, the company will be re-releasing Marvel vs. Capcom 2 with this cabinet, which has been officially licensed by both Marvel and Capcom. Not only will this cabinet feature the aforementioned MvC2, but eight other classic Marvel fighting games. This includes the first MvC, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and more. Not only that, this arcade cabinet isn't limited to just local play, as it will support online play, meaning fans can challenge each other in matches of MvC2 from around the world.
Other features of this arcade cabinet include an exclusive piece of side panel
