Before the advent of social media and influencers, Angelyne proved to be one of the progenitors of flashy self-promotion, scoring her minor roles in such films as Homer and Eddie and Earth Girls Are Easy with Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans, as well as releasing multiple music albums at the height of her fame.
