Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, on Thursday reshared a tweet containing an image of Earth captured from space by NASA. The Earth can be seen as a dot in the image. Mahindra reshared the image saying that this photo should teach humility to people. "If there's just one thing this photo should teach us….it's humility.."
Meanwhile, it can be known that the Twitter user named Curiosity (@Sciencenature14), who actually shared the image informed that the picture was actually taken from Mars. "This amazing photo was actually taken from Mars. Yup, the planet Mars and that tiny star-like white dot there is our beloved Earth! NASA," the tweet read.

Giving insights about the image of the Earth taken from Mars, NASA said that the picture shows the Earth as seen from the surface of Mars, shining brighter than any star in the Martian night sky.
"This photo from NASA's Curiosity rover shows the Earth as seen from the surface of Mars, shining brighter than any star in the Martian night sky. Earth is the bright point of light a little left of the image's center and our moon can be seen just below Earth. Curiosity, which landed on the red planet on August 6, 2013, is the largest and most advanced rover ever sent to Mars. It studies the geology of its surroundings and has found evidence of a past environment well-suited to support microbial life," NASA said in a blog post.
The blog post further informed, "A human observer with normal vision, if standing on Mars, could easily see Earth and the moon as two distinct bright evening ‘stars'. When Curiosity took the photo, Earth was about 99 million miles (160 million kilometers) from Mars."
