Warning! Spoilers ahead for My Hero Academia chapter 351!
All of the horrible things that Dabi yells at his younger brother Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia's latest chapter just proves once again that the series should have shown this side of the villain before their confrontation.
My Hero Academia has been building up to the highly anticipated showdown between Dabi and the members of the Todoroki family. Before assuming the identity of Dabi, Toya essentially burned himself alive in an effort to gain back his father Endeavor's attention when the birth of his younger brother Shoto led to Endeavor ignoring him and devoting all of his time to his youngest son. Although Dabi should have had every reason to despise Shoto, subsequent interactions between the two brothers proved that the villain only cared about tearing Endeavor down and that killing Shoto would just be an added bonus.

But as Dabi's rage continues to mount during his confrontation with Shoto in chapter 351, the villain is creating the impression that he actually always despised everything about his younger brother. He refers to the icy aspect of Shoto's quirk derogatorily and not only calls him a puppet but says Shoto can't even act like one correctly and ridicules him for clinging to others. This rising tension as he unloads all of these feelings on Shoto successfully adds to the hilarity of the moment, hyping the eventual release of powers from both sides as the two brothers finally attack each other. But there's one problem with this development. My Hero Academia should have shown this side of Dabi earlier. Of course, mangaka Kōhei Horikoshi is clearly presenting this spew
