The associated tweet released alongside the teaser says that MultiVersus fans have a surprise headed their way on Tuesday, suggesting September 6 will see the creature either added to the game's playable roster, or that the full reveal will take place on that day.

In the Gremlins movies, mogwais turn into gremlins when they eat food after midnight. It's possible that this mogwai is the one that turns into Stripe, and that transforming from a mogwai to a gremlin is part the character's kit, though that is just speculation at this time.
