Motorola is raining new smartphones upon us as the festive season approaches. It had only launched the Moto G32 earlier today and now, the company has announced another upcoming smartphone in the Moto G series. This one could end up being one of the most affordable 5G smartphones you can buy in India, as the rumours suggest. It is called the Moto G62 5G and it is similar to the phone that had launched in Brazil a while ago. Motorola hasn't announced the price of the phone yet but it has revealed some of the India-specific upgrades.
Unlike the Brazilian variant, the Indian variant of the Moto G62 gets some basic upgrades. The biggest one of them is the chipset, which has been upgraded from the Snapdragon 480+ to the Snapdragon 695. The Snapdragon 695 is a potent midrange chipset that has found place in many sub-Rs. 20,000 smartphones this year. Hence, the Moto G62 5G should be able to perform well with basic apps and casual games.
Other than the Snapdragon 695 chip, the Moto G62 in India is also getting a FHD+ IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone will also come baked with 12 5G bands, which means it should be compatible with most 5G bands easily.
Rest of the phone is expected to remain the same as the international model. Hence, you expect the same 6.5-inch display. The phone could also have a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a depth sensor. The phone may also have a 16MP front camera. All of that could be powered by the 5000mAh battery that will rely on a 20W charger.
What remains to be seen is how Motorola prices this phone. The segment is still dominated by the Poco X4 Pro 5G, which at Rs. 16,999 offers a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, the same Snapdragon 695
