The MIUI 13 update is almost here! Xiaomi has released its next iteration of the MIUI 12.5 update in China already and is gearing up to release the same in other markets. In fact, a new report now suggests that some global units of the Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro and Mi 11 Lite are already getting the MIUI 13 update. The update also carries Android 12 for these handsets.
Don’t get too excited yet! Xiaomi is yet to announce a formal launch date for the MIUI 13 software update. This version of MIUI 13 with Android 12 is limited to beta testers in limited numbers. Hence, your Redmi Note 10 or Redmi Note 10 Pro in India will have to wait for some time for the global version of the MIUI 13 update. Weirdly, the beta test is only pushing the MIUI 13 update to these midrange and entry-level models instead of the higher-end Mi 11 models.
The MIUI 13 release available to the select testers in in stable beta, say the reports. The update patch not only brings the MIUI 13, but also Android along with it. Xiaomi has also updated the security patch on these devices to the January Security patch.
As part of the update, this build carries only some of the features while leaves out other, which could probably be added in a future update. Right now, users can experience the newly design Control Center and generic performance improvements. The new Mi Sans Font is missing though. While Android 12 arrives on these devices, some of the security features are also missing in this build of MIUI 13.
Note that the global version of MIUI 13 will come integrated with Google Mobile Services, We also expect Xiaomi to have a different features set for the global models, given that the Chinese version has certain features that could not work globally
