For the last 10 years or so, Minecraft fans have dedicated a lot of their time to creating all sorts of interesting builds and contraptions. Give that it's one of the biggest video games in terms of map size, it's not surprising that so many are continuing to put work into some impressive projects, what with all that sprawling space to create in. Although it utilizes low resolution textures and 1x1 blocks, it's entirely possible to make something that is surprisingly detailed, as this one player shows.
Uploading a few images to the Minecraft Subreddit recently, user obscure_paneer has managed to create a sizable build that shows how much skill the player has. In short, it's a giant hand made out of stone, which juts out of the ground to almost pierce the very sky. Add to the fact that it's also been constructed on its own small island, there is a certain ominous appeal to it. In general, it's a pretty incredible build and of course, some in the comments have been breaking out the hand-based puns.

It's definitely one of those large forms that does require some distance in order to really appreciate the realistic detail that's gone into making it. Obviously, close-up it's easy to see that it is just a series of 1x1 blocks, but from afar, the sheer scale of it can be marveled, especially against the surrounding biome. As with a lot of giant Minecraft builds, obscure_paneer did have some help making it in the form of an «online voxelizer» which turns a 3D model into in-game blocks, which can then be exported and used in Minecraft.
