A lot of exciting game announcements were made in June 2022, and one of them was the reveal of Mojang's new action-strategy video game, Minecraft Legends. The game's announcement trailer was first revealed during the recent 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, and more information about the title was made available after the event on the official Minecraft site. Now, the most recent Nintendo Direct Mini provides confirmation that Minecraft Legends will also be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch in 2023.
Minecraft Legends is another spin-off game just like Mojang's dungeon crawler title Minecraft Dungeons. According to the official website, Mojang is working together with Vancouver-based studio Blackbird Interactive to put the game together. This seems an ideal pairing, given that Blackbird Interactive has prior experience making strategy games and part of Minecraft Legends' gameplay falls under action-strategy. However, Mojang is still putting a Minecraft twist to it by having players interact with familiar characters and NPCS, exploring the Overworld, and building armies with mobs to fight Piglin invaders.
Minecraft Legends Strategy Game Revealed for Release Next Year
During the recent June 2022 Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo confirmed via a short announcement trailer that Minecraft Legends will also be released on the Nintendo Switch. Though the video did not seem to reveal any new information about the game's story or features, it did reiterate the game's 2023 launch period. With Minecraft Legends being made available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and the Nintendo Switch, interested players will have their pick of gaming platforms to access the title from.
