The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Microsoft is considering a possible purchase of Activision Blizzard, the developer/publisher behind such multi-billion dollar franchises such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch.
According to Bloomberg reporter Dina Bass the acquisition has been officially confirmed by Microsoft, with the sale transaction reported to be in the region of $68.7 billion USD. The transaction includes Activision, Activision Blizzard, mobile company King, and all subsidiary properties and IPs.
Microsoft’s Head of Xbox Gaming, Phil Spencer, released an official statement regarding the purchase.
