If you were a fan of Thor: Love and Thunder, good news! The movie will arrive on digital release on September 8, as well as Disney+, with 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD is coming on September 27. The home release will have all-new bonus features, including deleted scenes, a gag reel, and audio commentary provided by director Taika Waititi.
Thor: Love and Thunder was the 29th film in the long-running Marvel Cinematic Universe and while receiving some praise for its light-hearted nature and the acclaimed performances from Bale, Portman, and Hemsworth, got some criticism for its tonal inconsistency, and you can read GameSpot's review of Thor: Love and Thunder here.
Despite it not making as much as Thor: Ragnorak, it eventually grossed $738 million worldwide, becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2022.
Thor: Love and Thunder focuses on Thor and his journey of self-discovery and his purpose outside of the Avengers. He's thwarted by a galactic and mysterious killer known as Gorr the God Butcher seeks the eradication of the gods. Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, rock soldier Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster who has now assumed the mantle of the Mighty Thor.
It's interesting to note that in the deleted scenes listed, there's one about Thor, Valkyrie, and Korg running into a few characters while seeking an audience with Zeus. This could be where actress Lena Headey had her scenes cut.
