Marvel’s Avengers is releasing yet another free character skin before its delisting later this year, this time for the legendary Thor. After its team-focused superhero action title struggled to connect with players over the past two years, developer Crystal Dynamics announced that Marvel’s Avengers would end all post-launch support and be delisted from all online retailers later this year. As a consolation to fans who have already invested in the game, all cosmetic items will be made available completely free of charge, and the Marvel’s Avengers servers will remain online for the foreseeable future.
The final update patch for Marvel’s Avengers will launch on March 31, and it will turn off the cosmetic Marketplace and convert all Credit balances into other in-game resources in preparation for the final delisting. Additionally, players will be able to unlock a free Iron Man skin that bears a striking resemblance to his fellow Avenger War Machine — as long as they have earned at least one achievement or trophy before April 1. As it turns out, another hero will be getting a new look as part of the final wave of new Marvel’s Avengers content, one that comes from the dawn of time.
