As the Married at First Sight experts predicted, Steve Moy and Noi Phommasak have some of the best chemistry on season 14 and seem to be off to a very romantic start. Many of the other couples had handfuls of awkward moments, and some even appeared to be repulsed by their new partners. Alyssa Ellman all but abandoned Chris Collette at first sight, and Katina Goode was intrigued (and a little overwhelmed) by Olajuwon Dickerson's big personality. Noi from MAFS may have high expectations for marriage, but Steve and Noi, by comparison, seem to have more potential for a long and happy relationship.
Noi is a hopeless romantic who's traveled the world searching for love. She works as a talent acquisition coordinator at Simpson Gumpertz and Heger Inc. Her family immigrated to the United States after living in a refugee camp for several years. She admired her parents' resilience and ability to stick together, no matter what. Meanwhile, Steve worked as a sales engineer and software developer at Experian Data Quality but was laid off early in 2021. With a sense of spontaneity, he took off on a four-month-long road trip, sleeping in his car and going wherever the day took him. Steve then jumped straight into Married at First Sight and believed that the process could work for him after he witnessed the success of his grandparents' arranged marriage. While MAFS fans were confused by Steve's job status, Noi wasn't overly concerned. Her family warned Steve that Noi's outgoing alter-ego, Noisy, may come out to play every once in a while.
