Mario Strikers: Battle League is the newest addition to the Strike series, and with 10 playable characters, creating a team that works well together is important. The Mario Strikers' stats are strength, speed, shooting, passing, and technique. Strength refers to the character’s power in tackling and resistance to being tackled. Speed is both basic movement speed and dash speed. Shooting refers to the speed and power of a character’s shot on goal. Passing refers to both the speed and distance of a pass to a teammate. Technique involves shot accuracy, angle, and ease of landing Hyper Strike shots.

A character’s usefulness is dependent on the role it can play on a player's team. Players can choose to have multiple characters who play in the same way or diversify their Battle League team with different skills. If a player finds that they can't dodge tackles as easily as they want, try utilizing a strength build that will resist those attacks. If the team is good at dodging and can avoid having the ball stolen by the enemy, try a speedy build. For a well-rounded experience, try a balanced team, or mix and match the best characters in the game.
