MapleStory is celebrating its 19th anniversary with a special event, a new playable class, and new rewards to earn.
First released back in Korea on April 29th, 2003, MapleStory’s anniversary event is on now. Across Mayple Island, there are a number of special events to play through. On the island, known as a dream world ordinary people don’t know about, the team offers some magic, color and fun, with event missions, daily opportunities to earn event currency and more to exchange for goodies, including new cosmetics.
Mayple Fiesta, Mayple Adventure, and Mayple Challengers are the three daily missions to complete to fill the Wish Orb. You refill the orb by completing the event missions daily, which will also give you new gifts. Each of the three are split into different sub-events and minigames for those level 101+.
For example, Mayple Adventure has the Dungeon Blast and Frozen Blast minigames. In these, you can team up with other players to form a team (Bowman, Magician, Thief, Wizard), earn XP, and strategically defeat a boss. You can even team up using cross-world matchmaking. Mayple Fiesta involves helping bloom flowers and monster hunting. Mayple Challengers is where the variety comes in, because the minigames here will change as the event goes on and can include racing and a dance party rhythm game. There are details on the mini game rotations available in the full patch notes.
The anniversary update also adds a new playable class, Forest Child Lynn. This isa revamp of the Beast Tamer, and as Lynn, gets new graphics, a reworked skill system, and new skill animations. The human Forest Child awakens after many reincarnations that involve communication with the Forest Master Gaia and Spirit Guides. And she can communicate with animals and other creatures in the forest. If you had a Beast Tamer, that character has now been converted to the new version, Lynn.
With Lynn’s release also comes a special event where you can earn special rewards, including a pet package
