Mahindra has finally marked its debut into the electric vehicle segment with the launch of XUV400 electric. The new electric SUV has been introduced on World EV Day to compete with Nexon EV. The new XUV400 has been launched as a part of the XUV recently announced in the UK. This is the first EV from Mahindra that will come with twin peaks logo with satin copper finish. The new EV is a part of the C-segment SUV category. It is longer than the XUV300 by 4200 mm long with a wheelbase of 2600 mm. Additionally, the vehicle offers a boot space of 378 litres/418 litres (up to roof). Furthermore, it is the widest e-SUV in the category at 1821 mm. The test drives for the Mahindra XUV400 will begin from December 2022 and bookings will start from the first week of January 2023 at both Mahindra dealerships as well as online. The XUV400 is scheduled to be delivered from the end of January 2023. It will be launched in Phased manner and Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, Jaipur, Surat, Nagpur, Trivandrum, Nashik, Chandigarh, and Kochi will be first to get XUV400. The XUV400 is reportedly the first Indian made passenger vehicle with the fastest acceleration in the non-luxury segment. It could attain the 100 kmph mark from standstill in a mere 8.3 seconds and can reach upto a top speed of 150 kmph. When fully charged, it could cover 456 kilometres as per Indian driving cycle standards (MIDC) because of a 39.4kW battery pack that uses state-of-the-art Li-ion cells.
