During the season 2 reunion for Love Is Blind, Kyle Abrams, one of the 30 contestants, mentioned that he should have tried harder with other connections he made in the pods and not focus solely on Shaina Hurley. Hurley and Abrams had one of the most discussed relationships from this season. This couple was one that the show focused on and their relationship was among those that did not have a happy ending. In the beginning, Abrams and Hurley shared good times in the pods and they had made a strong connection. Things seemed good for the two until Abrams expressed that he was an atheist; Hurley is a Christian. She explained that this would be a problem for their relationship as she needed a God-fearing husband and she felt as though her other connection with Shayne Jansen would be better for her- Jansen never expressed that he was a man of faith.
Despite her doubt in her relationship with Abrams, she hesitantly agreed to marry him and accepted his mother's engagement ring. While Abrams left the pods feeling happy that he found his forever person, Hurley was headed to another pod room to finally tell Jansen she had deep feelings for him; Jansen rejected her expression and proposed to Natalie Lee. When Hurley and Abrams met face-to-face, their chemistry was blatantly poor and during this time, Hurley expressed that she was unsure about their relationship. Despite the uncertainty, Abrams was hopeful the relationship would survive once they got to Mexico, but the relationship only got worse from here when Hurley left the country.
