Prime Video shared The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power footage shared at this year's Comic-Con includes a scene of Galadriel traveling to Númenor. The series is the latest big-budget live-action adaptation of the classic literary franchise from famed fantasy novelist J.R.R. Tolkien. It will take place during the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of both the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies, which were all helmed by Kiwi director Peter Jackson. Rings of Power is set up to be a huge fantasy epic, following many different characters through the history-shaking events of Sauron's rise to power.
Although The Rings of Power will be depicting a story that has never been told before with dozens of new original characters, there will be some familiar names spotted among the cast. Although, considering this show takes place long before they were born, most of the characters in the Lord of the Rings trilogy will be unable to appear, there are characters in the series who are immortal: the elves. Two of the franchise's most iconic elf characters, Elrond and Galadriel (who were played by Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett respectively in the original trilogy), will be appearing as much younger versions of themselves.
