Well, before Black Panther 2's second trailer dropped, star Letitia Wright has addressed the growing topic.
After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman back in August 2020, it was unclear what direction the sequel would take, and if there would even be another Black Panther hero. Following the first Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer's release, fans were at least given more details on the highly anticipated sequel, but were still left wondering one thing: who is wearing the suit?

Speaking with Empire for an interview before the secondBlack Panther 2 trailer, Wright, who is reprising her role as Shuri, addressed who is taking up the mantle of the titular hero in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. «That’s a tricky question to answer,» she said. «I had a chat about it with Ryan [Coogler, the director] and Chad when we were making Black Panther, and we touched on it briefly. When I realised I was playing Shuri, it was something that I really looked forward to.»
Wright also discussed the sequel on a more personal level, sharing how her role helped with her real-life experiences. «Shuri's journey has allowed me to grieve, to cry, to laugh, and to gain strength that I never thought I could ever have,» she said. «Trials and tribulations make you who you are. You either fold or you get up and go again. I feel like Shuri kept looking at me every day, asking me if I was gonna fold or go again. And I just kept going until healing started to happen
