Some characters in Pokémon Legends: Arceus have clear relations to other characters throughout the Pokémon series; others, like Iscan and Palina, don’t have any obvious connections, though Marlon from Gen 5’s Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 could be their descendent. Because Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set in the past, some of its characters have been clearly associated with others from prior titles, like Commander Kamado and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl’s Professor Rowan.
Not all characters in Pokémon Legends: Arceus have clear ancestors, however. For instance, Irida of the Pearl Clan and Adaman of the Diamond Clan, the clans that protect the Noble Pokémon in Legends: Arceus, don’t appear to take design inspiration from any other characters in particular. This could also apply to Warden Iscan of the Diamond Clan and Warden Palina of the Pearl Clan, but there are some hints to suggest they should have their own descendant equivalents. The Diamond Clan Wardens are Mai, Arezu, Iscan, Melli, and Sabi. Of these, Mai, Arezu, and Sabi have clear similarities to other characters, them being Marley, Mars, and Cheryl, respectively, from Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Melli also shares a similar hair color to Lucian from the same games, only his hair is a lot longer.

On the other hand, the Pearl Clan Wardens — Lian, Calaba, Palina, Ingo, and Gaeric — are a bit different from the Diamond Clan’s. Ingo is the same character from Unova sent back in time — similar to Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ protagonist; Lian has a clear relation to Unova’s Clay; and Gaeric bears similarities to Kalos’ Wulfric — they are both even named after the same plant in
