Although Legacies heroine Lizzie Saltzmann is now bonded to Hope thanks to the Tribrid turning her into a Heretic, even without this fact, she wouldn't have been able to kill the show’s anti-villain. Ever since Hope Mikaelson became the Tribrid, she has been making Legacies viewers regret their wish to see the show’s former heroine turn bad. After spending the first three seasons of The Originals spinoff being one of the show’s most good-natured characters (second only to the recently-exited Josie Saltzmann), Hope’s Tribrid turn made her the strongest villain in Legacies season 4 and arguably the most ruthless killer in the show’s history.
Immediately after turning off her humanity, Hope seemingly killed Alaric and proceeded to cut a bloody swathe through the Super Squad. This culminated in her killing Lizzie Saltzmann, a shocking twist that was soon undone when Legacies season 4 revealed that Lizzie always planned to let Hope kill her during their showdown. However, while this plan was complicated by unexpected bond siring the two together, it would never have been enough to ensure Lizzie's victory against the Tribrid Hope—something that Legacies season 4 needs to remember to maintain consistency.

Although getting killed by Hope was all part of her plan in “I Can't Be the One to Stop You” (season 4, episode 9) since dying turned Lizzie into a Heretic and granted her vampire powers, these powers alone were never going to be enough to beat Hope.
