Last Night in Soho is Schrodinger’s Movie; it’s both the most- and least-Edgar Wright movie ever made. The cult director has a classic, unmistakable style, and in Soho it feels at once reinvented, perfected, and abandoned. It’s nothing like Wright’s earlier work, and yet also feels exactly like it. It won’t be for everyone, and it might not be what you’re expecting, but it’s the most compelling film of the year.
