Korean Drama Sweet Home Season 2 & 3 Confirmed By Netflix
The apocalyptic South Korean horror series Sweet Home has been renewed seasons 2 and 3 at Netflix. Debuting on the streaming service in December 2020, Sweet Home is based on the webtoon of the same name by Kim Carnby and Hwang Young-chan. It tells the story of a high school student that leaves home following an unexpected family tragedy. And, soon after, people begin to turn into savage monsters. In this environment, the troubled teen has to band together with others in hopes of surviving for as long as possible while maintaining their humanity in the process.
According to THR, Netflix has renewed Sweet Home for seasons 2 and 3. The two upcoming installments, with director Lee Eung-bok returning behind the camera, will be produced back-to-back. In statements shedding light on what to expect, Lee notes that Sweet Home season 2 will include a new setting, while it’s expected that new episodes will also benefit from a larger budget and higher production value. Lee likewise shares that, in the future, the series will refine some of its technical details.

In terms of the cast, Song Kang and Lee Jin-uk will be back to reprise their roles, alongside Lee Si-young and Park Gyu-young. They’ll be joined by newcomers Yoo Oh-seong, Oh Jung-se, Kim Moo-yeol, and Jung Jin-young. Sweet Home has been a successful K-Drama show for Netflix, becoming the first South Korean show to enter the streamer’s Top 10 list in the U.S. and climbing to the third spot. Overall, the series came first in eight regions and was a part of the Top 10 in 42 regions. Fans of the show, who helped build it up into a big hit, can now look forward to several more episodes.
