Bandai Namco confirms it was the victim of a hack
pcgamesinsider.bizJapanese publishing giant Bandai Namco has admitted that it was the victim of a cyberattack earlier this month.
In a post on its website, the firm said that a third party gained access to its internal systems on July 3rd. Since, Bandai Namco says it has blocked access to the affected servers to stop the damage from spreading.
The company has said that customer information related to its Toys and Hobby division in Asia – but excluding Japan – might have been compromised.
"We will continue to investigate the cause of this incident and will disclose the investigation results as appropriate," Bandai Namco wrote.
"We will also work with external organizations to strengthen security throughout the Group and take measures to prevent recurrence. We offer our sincerest apologies to everyone involved for any complications or concerns caused by this incident."
Word that Bandai Namco had been the victim of a ransomware attack broke earlier this week.
