A new King of the Hill TV series revival is reportedly in the works, and fans of the original show might be happy to learn that creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge are said to be returning for it.
Daniels and Judge have created a new animation company called Bandera Entertainment, and a King of the Hill revival is reportedly part of their ambitious plans for the company.
Daniels and Judge wouldn't or couldn't say much about the new King of the Hill in their interview with The Hollywood Reporter, which has been rumored for years. «They're not ready to share official details,» the report said.
The original King of the Hill aired on Fox Sunday nights alongside The Simpsons. It ran for 13 seasons and 259 episodes, stretching from 1997-2010.
However, the pair were more forthcoming about other projects at Bandera, including a new series for Netflix called Bad Crimes. It stars Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus, and it's described as an «adult animation dark comedy procedural.»
In total, Bandera is said to have more than a dozen new projects in various stages of development. Another one is Praise Petey, which is being made for Freeform. Bandera is also making a new show with Sacha Baron Cohen described as a «very funny children's show,» as well as a show called Dykes to Watch Out For featuring Carrie Brownstein. Another unnamed show, described by Daniels as «if Breaking Bad was a half-hour comedy,» is also in the works, among other new projects.
«Mostly what Bandera is doing is trying to get us in more of a supervisory role; that's what we've been really concentrating on: using our taste and the people we've worked with and trying to help other people achieve their visions that we think are cool,» Daniels said.
