The story of Kawlan Roken doesn’t appear to be over in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series finale, with The Path’s leader perhaps returning in the upcoming Star Wars series Andor. Roken’s Jedi sympathizer group, The Path, is implied to be an eventual Rebel cell, so if he and his followers survive long enough, they may join Princess Leia's Rebel Alliance. Although the formal Rebellion won’t exist yet in the time of Andor, The Path and Roken could easily return in the series as a true Rebel cell in addition to a Jedi sympathizer group.
The earliest incarnation of the Rebellion formed before the Galactic Empire existed. As Palpatine was gradually orchestrating his coup, a contingent of Republic politicians formed the Delegation of 2000 as a check on the Republic’s worrying descent toward fascism. When the Empire supplanted the Republic, the Delegation was quickly dissolved, but many of its members, such as Bail Organa and Mon Mothma, gradually and subtly formed the eventual Rebel Alliance, with Rebel cells beginning to coordinate in 5 BBY and officially becoming the Alliance in 2 BBY.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series consistently depicts The Path similarly to a Rebel cell. The Path predominantly shelters and hides Jedi, defying the Empire’s galaxy-wide pogrom, but they’re also equipped and organized for potential clashes with the Imperial military, as shown on Jabiim. Ben Kenobi notes Roken’s skills as a leader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi finale, encouraging him to continue the fight against the Empire, to which Roken responds, “I’m just getting started.” Since Andor will take place during the formation of the Rebel Alliance, the Star Wars
